Vim 9.0 had been released several days ago. I started using Vim when the latest version was 6.4. The modes idea and navigation with j, k, k and l keys were unfamiliar to me and I’d spent a lot of time to get used to it. Now it’s something natural, so sometimes it’s difficult to use mainstream editors without Vim features. The most annoying thing with Vim 6.4 was the lack of editor tabs. I knew that there were buffers, but I did not like it. That is why I was extremely happy when Vim 7, with tabs support, was released. I rarely use this feature nowadays. What a twist of fate.
